This photo captures two riders on horseback (my girlfriend Meaghan and my sister Catherine) walking on a gravel path at Chipaway Stables in Acushnet, MA. The sun was setting behind the fields on the right of the image and cast a warm glow on the trunk of the tree in the foreground. Leading lines from the path and fences lead the viewer to the riders as they walk away. Finally, an open aperture created a short depth of field to soften out the background.
The photo was taken with my Canon Rebel T2i DLSR using a Canon 55-250mm EF-S medium telephoto lens. The camera was set on aperture priority with f/5.6 and ISO 100 to calculate a shutter speed of 1/80s. The focal length was 163mm.
