Run of the Charles:
When: Sunday April 28th, 2013
Where: Artesani Park on The Charles River in Brighton, MA
The new and improved Duct Tape Kayak will be on hand at the finish line of the 31st Annual Run of the Charles canoe and kayak race sponsored by the Charles River Watershed Association. There’s a chance that we’ll decide to enter the race but you can count on seeing the duct tape kayak on the water for a quick demonstration paddle in the very least! Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race (Tentative):
When: Monday May 27th, 2013
Where: Race Starts at Grandma Hartley’s Reservoir on Snipatuit Rd in Rochester, MA
The Duct Tape Kayak team is excited to put our kayak up against other homemade boats in this year’s Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race. This event has been going on almost every year since 1934 and is sponsored by the Rochester Fire Department. The 10-mile long course along the Mattaposiett River is the longest yet to be attempted by the Duct Tape Kayak! Come cheer on and cross your fingers for our fearless paddler, Alex!
Duct Tape Kayak Fundraiser Weekend @ Billington Sea Kayak:
When: Saturday June 15th & Sunday June 16th, 2013
Where: Billington Sea Kayak, 41 Branch Point Road, Plymouth MA
Come on down to the Billington Sea Kayak shop in Plymouth, MA to show your support for the Duct Tape Kayak Project and make an important donation to Heroes on the Water! A donation will automatically enter you into a raffle for a Seattle Sports Sea Whisper Carbon Paddle! Donors will also get the chance to sign the deck of the kayak! We hope to see you there!
Plymouth 4th of July Parade:
When: Thursday July 4th, 2013
Where: Anywhere along the Parade Route in Plymouth, MA
The Duct Tape Kayak Team has been hard at work preparing our float for the 4th of July Parade in Plymouth, MA!!! Keep an eye out for an old pick-up truck filled to the brim with pirate kayakers and decorated to the nines with patriotic regalia. We should be hard to miss considering that we’ll have a 23ft-long duct tape kayak in tow! Click here for more information on Plymouth’s 4th of July festivities.
NSRWA Great River Race:
When: Saturday July 20th, 2013
Where: Race Starts at Union Street Bridge in Norwell, MA.
Come cheer on Alex in the duct tape kayak and help support the efforts of the North-South River Watershed Association at the 23rd annual Great River Race. This race is a great event and a fun day for the entire family! We challenge you to enter your own kayak into the race and see how you fare against our new-and-improved Duct Tape Kayak!!! We’ll be on hand at the launch and at the after-party so that you can ask questions and check out the duct tape kayak up-close.
Plymouth Waterfront Festival:
When: Saturday August 24th ,2013
Where: Plymouth Waterfront
The Duct Tape Kayak team will continue their fundraising efforts at the Plymouth Waterfront Festival. Visit our booth to learn more about the important mission of the Duct Tape Kayak Project to support Heroes on the Water. A donation will automatically enter you into a raffle for a KayakDave.com T-shirt! Donors will also get the chance to sign the deck of the kayak! We plan to take the Duct Tape Kayak for a “historic” paddle past the Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower at some point during the day. This is a can’t-miss opportunity to see what we’re all about!

Where: Lloyd Center on the Slocum River Estuary, Dartmouth, MA
Come cheer on Alex in the duct tape kayak and help support the efforts of the Lloyd Center for the Environment at the 7th annual Slocum Challenge. This 2 mile race is a great event and proceeds help support the environmental education programs of the Lloyd Center! If you plan on entering be sure to follow the directions on the event website in order to secure your registration and t-shirt! We’ll be on hand at the launch and at the after-party so that you can ask questions and check out the duct tape kayak up-close.
