Duct Tape Kayak Sponsored by Seattle Sports!

Posted by on April 5, 2013 is wicked stoked to announce that the Seattle Sports Company is onboard as a sponsor of the Duct Tape Kayak Project this year! We would like to thank them for their generous donation of a SeaWhisper Carbon Paddle and Basic Safety Kit for use with the Duct Tape Kayak. Seattle Sports has been a strong supporter of since the early-going and we’re excited to expand our relationship with this amazing company in support of Heroes on the Water! Thanks, Seattle Sports!

Seattle Sports 30th Logo

Seattle Sports is a small company headquartered in (you guessed it) Seattle, Washington. They have been in the business of producing and distributing high quality outdoor gear for over 30 years! Their vast product line includes everything from dry bags and boats carts to camping gear and bike accessories.  In my opinion, the Seattle Sports Expedition Dry Bags are the best dry bags on the market and I always paddle with at least two of their Dual Chamber Paddle Floats at the ready!

The SeaWhisper Carbon Paddle is a new addition to the Seattle Sports lineup this season. This ultra-light paddle features a 2-piece carbon fiber shaft, a cam-lock ferrule for quick adjustable paddle length and feather angle, and high visibility blades. We’re really excited to give this paddle a try and report our findings in a full gear review!

Basic Safety Kit

Basic Safety Kit

The Basic Safety Kit is a bread-and-butter safety gear package for anyone who heads out on the water in a kayak! It contains all of the self-rescue essentials including (my favorite) Dual Chambered Paddle Float, Paddlers Bilge Pump, and a whistle. We had the opportunity to review the upgraded Deluxe Bilge Pump last season and we were so impressed that we decided to give it a KayakDave Gear of the Year Award!
