The MIT Outing Club posted sign-ups for our annual Memorial Day trip to Acadia National Park this week! I figured that featuring some kayaking pictures from Acadia over the next couple of weeks would be a great way to kick off of MITOC party and inspire other readers to book a trip to this East Coast Paddling Mecca! This picture was taken by Scott Phillips, a MITOC member and past ice climbing partner of mine. The picture shows a pair of kayakers enjoying a blue-bird day on Jordan Pond with the Bubbles in the background. These small “mountains” offer an excellent scramble, numerous trad climbing routes, and great views of the Cranberry Islands. If I had to guess, I’d say that these folks were on their way to the Jordan Pond House for some tea and popovers!
